हॅम्बर्ग ,जर्मनी ( निकलेश जैन ) फ्रीस्टाइल शतरंज गोट चैलेंज के साथ एक एक नया सुपर-टूर्नामेंट शुरू होने वाला है। 960 शतरंज फॉर्मेट के इस टूर्नामेंट में दुनिया के 8 बेहतरीन खिलाड़ियों को शामिल किया गया है, जिसमें विश्व के नंबर एक खिलाड़ी नॉर्वे के मैग्नस कार्लसन और वर्तमान विश्व चैंपियन चीन के डिंग लिरेन भी शामिल हैं। यह टूर्नामेंट दो भागों में खेला जाएगा, पहले रैपिड टाइम कंट्रोल के साथ एक राउंड-रॉबिन मुक़ाबले होंगे जिसके बाद रैंकिंग के आधार पर क्लासिकल टाइम कंट्रोल के साथ एक नॉकआउट टूर्नामेंट होगा। यह आयोजन 9-16 फरवरी के दौरान किया जाने वाला है । भारत से इस टूर्नामेंट में चेन्नई ओलंपियाड के स्वर्ण पदक विजेता डी गुकेश खेलते नजर आएंगे , अन्य खिलाड़ियों में यूएसए के फबियानों करूआना और लेवान अरोनियन , फ्रांस के अलीरेजा फिरौजा , उज़्बेक्सितान के अब्दुसत्तोरोव नोदिरबेक और जर्मनी से विन्सेंट केमर खेलते नजर आएंगे ।
Time controls
- Round-robin: 25 min for the game + 10 seconds per move
- Tiebreaks: direct encounter, number of wins, Sonneborn-Berger
- Quarter-, semi- and finals: 2 games with a standard time control of 90 min/40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game additional + 30 seconds per move
In case of a tie in the knockout (to take place in the evening after game 2)
- Two rapid games: 15 min for the game + 10 sec per move
- Two blitz games: 5 min for the game + 2 sec per move
- Single blitz games until a winner is found
